For the first time in the local community, within two of Fondazione MIdA’s locations: the auditorium of Museo Speleo Archeologico -MIdA1 and the magnificent Complesso monumentale dello Jesus - MIdA3, this seminar brings together several Orders of Engineers and the Orders of Architects of the provinces of Salerno and Potenza to explore the relationship between natural materials, algorithmic design, architecture and engineering and the need to meet the needs of a global community under the pressure of the current climate emergency. The theme of the DIGITAL NATURE project, looks at different experimental examples made mainly of raw earth and bamboo and developed through algorithms, capable of optimizing environmental, structural and cultural parameters. This encounter between natural materials and the algorithmic design in the context of construction, experimentation full of innovation, is in harmony with the dictates of sustainability and the bold organic compositions of today's architecture.
This collaboration between BACAS and the MIdA Foundation, of the Municipalities of Auletta and Pertosa is curated by architects Rossella Siani and Stefan Pollak in collaboration with participating organizations and the Fondazione MIdA.
The seminar is planned with two other components: an exhibition and a construction workshop that will build a permanent structure applying the principles outlined in the multi-faceted event with the ultimate goal of creating a multi-year event at the Complesso monumentale dello Jesus - MIdA3 that will bring together in collaboration working professionals, school and university students and the community at large of the surrounding towns.
